February 29, 2016 – CSE Talent client Tony Harris’ newest project, documentary series "Hate in America", will debut exclusively on Discovery ID tonight, February 29 at 8:00 p.m. EST.
Harris, an Emmy Award Winning journalist, teamed up with the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) and its founder Morris Dees to produce and launch his newest investigative series, which became the first to showcase stories from the organization’s case files against organized hate in America. The series will focus on the SPLC’s battles against organized hate across the country, highlighting its lawsuit against the United Klans of America, the white supremacist Pioneer Little Europe group in Montana and the violent acts of domestic terrorists.
The series, produced by NBC News’ Peacock Productions, currently has three, one-hour episodes set for premiers over the course of 2016. The introductory episode will center on the SPLC’s multi-million dollar lawsuit against the United Klans of America that was promted by the lynching of a young man in the early 1980s.
Harris has developed a reputation in the industry for investigating issues that revolve around the racial and ethnic divide through tout the course of his 30-year career as an award-winning journalist. In addition to his Emmy, Harris has earned honors as a George Foster Peabody Award winner and recognition for his involvement in the coverage of the Arab Spring while in the Middle East.
